Light up the Eiffel Tower every match evening of UEFA EURO 2016 with Orange and the City of Paris
On the 14th of April, Orange, official sponsor and telecoms provider of UEFA EURO 2016, kicked off its new global sponsorship platform – Orange Sponsors You – to give fans the recognition they deserve by turning the spotlight on them.
Orange is sharing over 3,000 match tickets and 200 VIP experiences to watch the warm-up games with fans. Yesterday, Orange launched its new global TV and advertising campaign, starring Zinédine Zidane, who sends his scouts to scour the globe and help Orange to find the world’s biggest fans, this advertisement will be combined with a totally immersive 360° film to be launched on OrangeSponsorsYou.com on the 6th of June.
Show your support for football by lighting up the Eiffel tower
From the 10th of June, in partnership with the City of Paris, Orange will offer fans the chance to play in the creation of a spectacular lightshow extravaganza in the French capital. Every day during UEFA EURO 2016, there will be a match on the pitch… and a digital match between fans. In celebration of their passion, fans will be able influence how one of the world’s most iconic monuments, the Eiffel Tower, is uniquely lit up. On the evening of every match day, 10 minutes after the final whistle of the last match of the day, the Eiffel Tower will be illuminated with the colours of the country playing that day and which received the biggest support, by fans on social media. A selection of the best fans’ messages from social will also be broadcast on the Eiffel Tower. The illumination will be shown live on OrangeSponsorsYou.com.
Beatrice Mandine, senior executive vice president for brand and communications at Orange commented: "Thanks to the City of Paris, we’re not just putting the fans in the spotlight, we’re giving fans the opportunity to decide how Paris and the Eiffel Tower will participate in celebrating UEFA EURO 2016. This is a unique opportunity that Orange is offering to fans to make UEFA EURO 2016 a festive time for all."
"This unique partnership between the City of Paris and Orange gives the keys of the illumination of this exceptional monument to Parisians and visitors who are all gathered here by the same passion for football and the values of sport. This aligns our desire to make UEFA EURO 2016 a popular and festive event, in which everyone can be a full participant, "says Jean-François Martins, Assistant to the Mayor of Paris in charge of Sports and Tourism.
Anyone from anywhere in the world, whether they are an Orange customer or not, can play and show their support via social (Facebook, Twitter or Instagram) by using the hashtag of their favourite country playing that day (for example, #FRA for France or #England for England). These messages or videos will be measured each match day, between 00.01am to 21.30pm.
Be the Official Fan of the Match – An Orange Exclusive
During each match of the competition, Orange will scout for the most passionate supporter in the stadium. Orange will shine the spotlight on them and designate them as "Fan of the Match". They will be announced by UEFA at half time, with their picture projected on the big screens around the stadium, on the Eiffel Tower and on Orange’s social platforms. The winner will also be invited onto the pitch to receive an official Fan of the Match trophy presented by Orange and UEFA at the end of the game.
To select the Fan of the Match, Orange has a dedicated team of photographers on the lookout for fans that go that extra mile in passionately showing their support for their teams.
